Raw Image Support
Our mission is that every single week, we launch a dramatically meaningful improvement to our product for our users. This week, that feature is complete support for raw image types. We’ve added support for nearly all possible raw images from companies including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Olympus, Hasselblad, Sigma, and Adobe. This means that all these image types and formats all natively appear with sharp, beautiful thumbnails in the Poly file browser. Take a look!
If you double click to view the file, you see a high resolution version of the image. The raw images will now appear in smart search results. And finally, you’ll be able to chat with the agent about your raw images just like any other image file.
Our raw file support is extremely comprehensive, covering nearly all brands and models we could get a hold of. However, it’s possible we missed some file types, so we would love for you to see what works and what currently shows a “blank” file, and we’ll make sure to add support for those files, too.
With raw, our image support is already extremely comprehensive. These raw image types add to our growing list of supported image file types: jpg, png, webp, git, bmp, svg, heif, heic, avif, jxl, and psd.

Improvements
- Upload, browse, search, preview, and chat about raw image files. Include EXIF metadata if found
- A link to the waitlist has been added to login and signup pages in case users don’t see the link on the main page
- Web-based file uploads should be significantly faster now. We optimized the upload process so that the entire “reading files” step is now gone! For large uploads that would often add over 30% to the upload duration!
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where Onboarding wasn’t showing after sign-up (shoutout Adam, Sidin, and others!)
- Fixed an issue where searches were not working in Firefox (shoutout Jasmine for the find!)
- Fixed an issue with reading docx, pptx, xlsx files where the agent would only read the first page of the file (shoutout Ben for the find!)
- Fixed an issue that prevented searches from running constantly if they ended with a space
- Fixed an issue with keyboard navigation not working in some cases
- Fixed an issue where the “quick” search buttons on the search facet dropdown didn’t work
- Fixed an issue with downloads where the progress bar would not always display correctly
