2-10x faster folder list and navigation speed
As part of our dedication to always providing you with a better experience, we’re excited to launch some crucial updates to our platform that allow us to offer up to 10x faster browsing speeds, especially for large folders. Folders with over 500 elements should now load near instantly, with thumbnails and full interaction being available within milliseconds rather than seconds. Here’s a look:
This is a large milestone for the team, and introduces some clever mechanics to the Poly browser under the hood. It also involves a deep collaboration between the front-end and back-end of the system, which validates our thesis of having a tightly coupled system. We hope you can get to creating some large folders and share in our excitement!
Improvements
- Added a “job” view to the conversation for long running tasks like generating a transcript for an audio/video file
- You can now paste text from you clipboard and it will paste as a text file
- Improved the file picker element with a better display and size
- Paths throughout the UI are now flexibly displayed, with intermediate path items shortening and ellipses for longer files
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where searches would load zero results sometimes
- Fixed an issue with column view not rendering correctly
- Fixed an issue where you try to add too many videos or youtube links to the chat
- Fixed an issue with pasting a file on the desktop browser
- Fixed an issue with displaying images in peek and preview view
- Fixed an issue with displaying websites on the desktop app
- Fixed an issue where generating a transcript would create an invalid file
