Intro

The Poly desktop app is the most capable way to use Poly. It runs the same interface as the web client, but adds a native layer that the browser can't provide:

• A sync folder: your Poly files appear as a real folder in Finder or Explorer, with files downloading on demand and syncing back automatically.
• Offline access: the desktop cache keeps metadata and file content available without a connection, and queues your changes until you're back online.
• Tags & colors: Finder tags sync bidirectionally with Poly tags, colors included.
• Bookmarks: links you save in Poly appear on disk as .webloc files you can double-click.
• Spotlight & Handoff: Poly files surface in macOS system search, and the page you're viewing hands off to your other Apple devices.
• The CLI: a poly command-line tool that works with your files from the terminal, installed straight from the app.
