File Browser Basics
An overview of navigating and managing your files in Poly.
The Poly file browser is your primary interface for working with your files. From here you can navigate your folder hierarchy, preview files, organize your storage, and trigger AI actions — all in one place.
What's in the file browser
When you open Poly, you land in your Home. The browser is divided into three areas:
- Sidebar — shows your Home, Archive, and Agent, plus your favorites, Shared Drives, and files shared with you
- Main panel — displays the contents of the folder you're currently in
- Detail panel — opens when you select a file, showing metadata, versions, and actions
At the top of the window is the toolbar, which contains the search bar, the upload button, and controls for switching view modes.
