HTML Support
This week we’re releasing deep support for storing HTML files in your Poly browser. This may not seem like a big deal (HTML files are just text after all), but it actually comes with some intriguing benefits. For one, now when you preview an HTML file you see a full immersive view of the HTML file’s contents in a functional and clickable interface. But more importantly, the agent can just as easily create reports or documents for you in HTML, which allows you to then navigate to the file and click around. Check it out!
This essentially allows you to prompt the agent to create detailed, beautiful reports for you with full styling and interactive features like collapsible sections, links, figures, and even widgets! It’s an easy way to level up your note taking skills with Poly, or to create instantly shareable artifacts with others.
Our HTML support runs deep so you get multiple kinds of integration: you can press space-bar to peek HTML files in a browser-preview. You can navigate to HTML files and view them that way. You can chat with the agent about your HTML and the agent can fix, edit, or explain what’s going on. And you get a visually pleasing, high resolution thumbnail of the rendered HTML page in your browser.
This week recalls the peak of “SF is back”: the 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition, signalling the city’s comeback after the quake. If you’ve ever wondered why there’s a neo-classical monument sitting out of place in the Marina — the Palace of Fine Arts was just a temporary stage prop for the expo that, against all odds, never left.
Improvements
- Faster loading of assets from the server. We’ve overhauled our client to reduce needless web requests by 95% with a clever caching mechanism. This means that navigating to the page over and over again is gloriously fast and responsive.
- Indexing videos is now much faster, as much as twice as fast. So you get your thumbnails, storyboard previews, and search indexing faster than ever.
- We now support AVIF type files as images.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where items in gallery view mode were not correctly selectable.
- Fixed an issue with copying certain types of files, such as links.
