Outline
Navigate a long agent conversation using an auto-generated table of contents.
The Outline panel generates a table of contents from the headings in the current agent conversation. It gives you a bird's-eye view of a long response and lets you jump to any section without scrolling.
The Outline is only available when the Agent panel is active. Open it by clicking the Tools pill and choosing Outline. If the Agent panel is not active, the Outline option appears dimmed.
Navigating with the outline
Click any entry to smoothly scroll the agent transcript to that heading. This works across the full length of the conversation, including responses that are no longer visible in the viewport.
When the outline is empty
The panel shows no entries if:
- The agent has not produced any markdown headings yet in the current conversation
- The current conversation contains only prose, code, or other non-heading content
In these cases, the outline remains blank until the agent generates a response that includes headings.
