Journaling
Journaling gives you a quiet place to document your day-to-day life. Write a few thoughts, attach files, or add the broader context behind a project. You do not need to turn every entry into a polished document: a small detail recorded today can be useful later.
Open Mind and you'll be presented with a blank journal to start writing in. Changes are automatically saved and integrated into your memories.
Capture your day
An entry can be a quick observation, a decision you made, or something you want to remember. Give it a title and keep today's date, or choose a past date to record an earlier memory.
Try writing about:
- A conversation and what you took away from it.
- A place you visited, with photos attached to help you remember it.
- An idea you want to come back to.
- A small detail, such as why you chose a particular item for your home.
Connect your notes to your files
Attach files that belong with an entry, and explain why they matter. A photo can show what happened; a sentence beside it can explain who was there or why you want to remember the moment.
For a project, include context beyond the individual files: what you are trying to achieve, what you have decided, and what remains open. This makes it easier for you or your agent to pick up where you left off.
For example:
We chose the smaller desk for the home office so there would still be room for the bookcase. I've attached the room photos and the desk options. Next step: check the measurements before ordering.
Revisit and manage your entries
Browse your journal by date, or use Today to return to the present. You can edit entries as your thoughts develop and delete notes you no longer want to keep.
New journal entries are Markdown files synced to your Mind folder. Dated Markdown notes in Home and its subfolders also appear as journal entries. Notes attached to existing files stay with those files. Both are visible in Mind, alongside the memories Poly gathers from your file system.
