ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT on the web to Poly's hosted MCP server.

ChatGPT on the web connects to Poly the same way as the desktop app: through Poly's hosted MCP server.

Connect

  1. In ChatGPT's settings, add Poly as a connector using the server URL:
https://mcp.poly.app/mcp
  1. Approve the OAuth prompt — a browser window signs you into your Poly account. No API keys are involved.
  2. Enable the connector in your conversation.

The polymcp repo tracks the current install steps for every client, so check there if your ChatGPT plan surfaces connectors differently.

What ChatGPT gets

Three tools, described fully in Using MCP:

  • search — ranked full-text and semantic search across your files
  • fetch — the contents of any file: text, extracted PDF text, transcripts, images
  • cli — a virtual poly command line for browsing and organizing
